What is an overactive bladder?
If you have an overactive bladder (OAB), you feel the sudden urge to urinate and have difficulties controlling your bladder. You might also experience an unintentional loss of urine immediately after an urgent need to urinate. Those affected by OAB urinate more frequently, usually eight or more times in 24 hours, and wake up more than two times during the night to urinate. Common treatments for an overactive bladder may include changes in diet or exercises for the pelvic floor muscles.
